Murcia-San Javier Airport

Murcia-San Javier Airport is the closest and most convenient airport for travellers to Cartagena. Depending on where you're flying from, it may be necessary to fly into Alicante Airport which is further to the northeast. Murcia-San Javier Airport is about 30 kilometres from Cartagena and the drive takes around 25 minutes via the AP-7 motorway. It's a pleasure to fly into, with most passengers clearing airport control in less than 30 minutes. Short term parking is reasonably priced, and right outside the terminal doors you will find seating and a quaint little outdoor bar.

Murcia-San Javier Airport Parking

Upon arrival at the airport, if you are just picking up or dropping off a passenger there is no need to pay for parking. When reaching the entrance you stick to the lane without a boom gate and stop your vehicle outside the terminal doors. This is not a parking space and you must not leave your vehicle unattended. Should you linger too long you will be asked to move on. Those staying for a while simply need to take a ticket at the boom gate and find a parking space. When leaving the airport, the ticket machine for paying is just outside the terminal doors and to the right.
