Cinema

Cinema provides fun family entertainment during a visit to Cartagena and can be coupled with a  a game of 10 pin bowling or a bit of retail therapy. Many visitors are attracted to the city for its abundance of historic buildings, monuments and attractions. Others prefer to spend lazy days on the surrounding beaches and lively nights in the bars and restaurants. Some of these are great fun and feature entertainment such as karaoke, quiz nights, bingo, and pool or darts challenges. However, for entertainment all the family can enjoy, catch a movie at one of the cinema houses.

Cinema & Shopping

On the outskirts of Cartagena city centre is Centro Commercial Espacio Mediterráneo. This is a large shopping complex with excellent services and a nearby bus stop with routes into the city. Those driving will find ample free underground parking and and there is also a taxi rank. The upper level of the complex is dedicated to restaurants and entertainment venues. Neocine boasts multi-screens showing the latest movies on top of the range audiovisual systems. In the foyer visitors can enjoy typical movie snacks and drinks and check out the daily movie display screens.

Most visitors make a day or evening of their visit, with a bit of shopping and meal in one of the cafes or restaurants. There is also 10 pin bowling alleys, fun kids playground and an amusement arcade. There is an excellent selection of shops and boutiques on the lower level. These include well known high street stores such as Zara, Primark, H&M, Mango, C&A, Zippy and Stradivarius.

Surrounding Cinema Houses

Neocine Mandarache is located closer to the city centre on Ronda Ciudad de la Union. This is in the smaller Centro Commercial Mandarache. It also boasts multi-screens and comfortable seating. Cinema prices are reasonable although the choice of movies is rather limited in the low season. Aside from the in-house snack counter, visitors will find a nearby McDonald's.

Those travelling further afield for a day on the spectacular beaches of Puerto de Mazarrón and the popular La Manga resort area also have the chance to catch a movie. Perfect for those balmy summer evenings, Cine Bahía is an outdoor movie theatre. This is located on Via Axial in the centre of Puerto de Mazarrón. They are popular for their premier double features although you may wish to bring along cushions as the seats are rather uncomfortable. Finally, there are three cinema complexes along the La Manga Strip and another one on the shores of the Mar Menor.
